Tinrate adds a 5% service fee to the expert's rate. The expert always receives their full rate; the 5% is paid by you, the customer, on top.
Most bookings are also subject to 21% VAT, charged on the rate plus the service fee. For example, a €100 session is charged as:
Expert's rate: €100.00
Tinrate service fee (5%): €5.00
VAT (21% of €105): €22.05
Total: €127.05
When VAT isn't added: if you're a VAT-registered business outside Belgium and enter a valid VAT number at checkout, the reverse-charge mechanism applies and we don't add VAT. Belgian customers, and anyone without a valid VAT number, are always charged VAT.
